The Press Club, University of Lagos is set to hold the 5th annual Ngozi Agbo Memorial Media Lecture.The lecture will hold on the 28th of September 2016 at the Afe Babalola Hall, University of Lagos. The theme of this year lecture is Social Media Campaign: A Tool for Activism and Citizen Journalism.
This year media lecture will feature among other things; Essay Competition, Debate and the Fourth Estate Awards. Professor Ralph Akinfeleye, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Mr Sam Omatseye and Mr Lekan Otufodunrin will be honoured with the Fourth Estate Awards. There will also be prize given to Essay and Debate winners.
Speaking with Kemisola Agoyi, Head: Planning Committee of the event, she pointed out that the club has gone against all odds to make sure that the legacy of the Late Ngozi Agbo is upheld with the annual lecture “ the club has gone against all odds to make sure the legacy of the late Aunty Ngozi lives on with this year memorial media lecture, to us, this year lecture is one with a difference, One; because it is the fifth edition, Two; because the late Ngozi would have been 40 years old this year”.
The Ngozi Agbo Media lecture is an annual event of The Press Club, Unilag to honour the Late Ngozi Agbo, the pioneer editor of CampusLife- The Nation Newspaper for her contribution towards campus Journalism and her impact on youth in general.
