Ngozi Agbo Media Lecture; A Legacy (1)

All hands have been firmly on deck as The Press Club, UNILAG is set to host the 6th Ngozi Agbo Media Lecture And Summit. The event is set to hold this year on Thursday, 11th of October, 2018 at the Centre of Excellence hall on the 2nd floor of the Mass Communication Department, University Of Lagos, Akoka at 10 a.m. prompt. The theme of the event is ‘Journalism And The Challenges Of Today’, which was brought about by the various ongoing issues surrounding journalism in campuses and even the nation at large.

This year’s summit features a certified training on media and youth advocacy and digital marketing by google expert; a debate titled ‘Regulation Of Social Media: A Necessity?’ and a panel discussion on ‘Sustaining The Relevance Of Campus Journalism In Our Swiftly Changing Digital Age’. The event surely promises to be enlightening as we have renowned speakers and panel discussants lined up to stimulate healthy conversations, feasible solutions and way forward.

Although, The Ngozi Agbo Media Lecture did not hold last year due to some challenges, therefore The Press Club is determined to make this year’s lecture one with a difference – which brought about the rebranding into a summit, as opposed to the regular lecture.

The late Ngozi Agbo’s legacy as the Pioneer editor of Campus Life – The Nation newspaper and her contribution towards campus journalism is a major inspiration to The Press Club, UNILAG. The memorial lecture is an event to acknowledge her contributions and also deliberate on the way forward in campus journalism and beyond.

Among other guests lined up, The Press Club, University of Lagos hereby use this medium to invite the general public to this scintillating summit ahead.
