Tech-driven ideas clash at UNILAG’s ECX Engineering Career Expo

Five teams comprising various Engineering students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Saturday presented various tech-driven innovative solution ideas at the ECX Engineering Career Expo.

The event, which was held at the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium of the university, was Engr. Dare Akeredolu, Exxon Mobil; Mike adesanya, Head of Fashion and Beauty, Jumia Nigeria; and Mr. Femi Adeshina, MTN Youth Segment Unit, among others.

Team A presented a Cleaner Robot Simulator while Team B present their idea – a Fast Fourier Transform.

The third team, Team C presented their idea on Optical Character Recognition while the fourth team, Team D presented a one-way slab design for structural architectural plans.

Team E, on their part, presented their idea on a video chat application that helps block screenshoting of chats by the recipient, inhibit disturbing notifications (from social media), among other functions.

 

Speaking during the event, Adeshina enjoined students to keep learning and coming up with innovative solutions that helps to solve community problems.

“So you guys keep learning, there is no stopping in learning. Let us not only keep this thing but try to bring it out; not just from our hand but to help the community,” he added.

On his part, Akinpelumi emphasised the need for social intelligence, personal interrelations, teamwork, ability to solve problems, innovations and exposure as vital requirements in life.
