The Mass Communication department of the University of Lagos had her orientation program for the freshers yesterday February 19, 2020.
The program kicked off with the opening prayer by the Communicators For Christ (CFC) President – Ben Okoh Dorlin, followed by the welcome address by the Mass Communication Student Association (MCSA) President – Agada Paul, staff adviser – Dr Ajibade and lecturers like Mr Sam Ejiwunmi. They welcomed the freshers to the department and encouraged them not to misuse their new-found freedom from home.
The MCSA vice president – Olushola Favour said the orientation is a tradition in the Mass Communication Department where students are enlightened and equipped with advice on how to live the campus life. It is also to motivate them to achieve certain goals they have set for themselves and provide neccessary information about the department as the theme of this year’s orientation is the FYE 1.0 which means the First Year Experience.
Freshers in attendance were elated by the warm welcome from their student leaders and lecturers. Nita, a year one student said “the orientation was nice, I like the vibe, they showed us that we were not lost but welcomed and the the speakers were also interactive”
Communication veterans were also invited to the orientation program, among them Mr Joshua Adegoke, Mrs Oladipupo Medebum, Mr Lekan Otufodurin and Mr Oladipupo Solomon. The program also featured games, drama and a panel session.
