The students of the Arts and social sciences education department of the University of Lagos mourns their sport secretary, a 300 level student of the department of Early Childhood Education by the name Taiwo.
According to a coursemate who was a witness, the young man allegedly slumped while playing football at the Federal College of Education, Akoka.
He was rushed to the Medical Centre of the College of Education, which unfortunately did not have enough equipment for a first aid treatment.
He was later taken in an ambulance to the University of Lagos Medical Center, however, he passed on before they got him to the Medical Centre.
Commenting on the demise, Nigerian Universities Education Students Association (NUESA) President, Mr. Wale Adesanya said, “Taiwo, aside being a student of our faculty, is a brother to me, as I have always seen him like a part [sic]of me.” He went on to describe the deceased as an “amazing and lovable person with distinguished character”.
