Students gathered at the NASOWS (National Association Of Social Work Student) Freshers Orientation, Faculty of Social Science (UNILAG) on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 to familiarize themselves with what social work as a profession entails.

The event, held at the faculty hall, was graced with the presence of notable scholars of the department, Dr Samuel Adejoh; Dr Nwanna Rosabelle; Dr Oyeleke, among others.

Engaging the audience, Dr Oyeleke drew their advised freshers on the importance of academic pursuit. Urging them to focus, “you should try as much as possible to be focus, even if you want to participate in any other extra curricula activities…,” he said.

The efficiency of good reporting was well articulated by Dr Nwanna to the ‘newly-arrived’. She explained how decent and proper behaviour are important to the practice of social work.

In attendance was a team of Google Digital Skills experts, who addressed students on the effective use of digital skills for social work.
