The Academic Staff Union of Universities has declared the suspension of the 9-month old strike at a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja.
This resolution comes after the ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi and other National Executive Committee of the union attended the event where he made the announcement. Professor Ogunyemi made it clear that the suspension takes effect from Wednesday 23, 2020.
The ASUU President also stated that National Executive Council NEC resolved to suspend the strike conditionally and any refusal from the government to fulfil their part of their agreement will lead to a resumption of the industrial strike again.
