Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has issued a notice to the university undergraduates to vacate the halls of residence on or before March 30th, 2022.
This was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday, March 26th, 2022, via the university’s virtual platform for faster dissemination of information.
Recall that the university undergraduates have previously been directed to resume by April 3rd, 2022 in potential reboot of academic activities following the industrial strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
However, this directive was declared void in the just released statement signed Ag. Dean, Students Affairs, University of Lagos; Professor Obalola.
The current residents of the university halls of residence who were directed to vacate the hostels are majorly student executives and volunteers for the ongoing Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) competition which was scheduled to end by March 27th.
In the wake of another impending warning strike action by the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the likelihood that academic activities would remain on a standstill appears higher than ever before.
Amidst the tussles, university undergraduates are to remain at home.
