The 2nd assembly of the UNILAG Students’ Union Legislative Council had her first emergency sitting on 10th February, 2016 at the hallowed chambers of the union building. However, it was so shocking to see the house been called-to-order and was unable to continue the emergency sitting as the Presiding Officer of the union parliament, Rt. Hon. Adeonipekun Adeyanju declared a recess.
An interaction with some parliamentarians reveals that, the house has a lot of issues to sort out within a short period of time so as to achieve a greater and better ULSU. Some of the issues stated were; the scrutiny and defense of the Union budget, deliberations on hostel accommodation and the pre-medical students. The emergency sitting was short-lived due to the ongoing protest by the pre-medical students, as it is necessary for the parliamentarians to support the struggle.
