After much period of vacancy spanning over 36months, a new chancellor has been appointed by the chief executive of the Niger-Area for the community of first choice and nation’s pride. The monarch who hails from Borno in the North-East region of Nigeria is expected to be formally installed during the 2016 convocation ceremony on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016. The monarch, Shehu of Borno, His Eminence Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi is to succeed the last chancellor, Attah of Igala Aliyu Obaje, who died in 2012. The Borno Monarch however expresses his commitment to the development of the University of Lagos.
