
Activities have been shut down in the University of Lagos as all Non-academic staff union of the University under the Joint Action Committee (JAC) joined their national body in the indefinite strike which commenced today.
The strike which commenced after the chapter congress, has been described as total and comprehensive, “During the strike, there shall be no provision of services, no matter how skeletal” Mr. Ukwoke, Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) noted earlier, during a press conference in Abuja.
The Joint Action Committee, JAC, comprising of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) embarked on a warning strike earlier this year.
You will recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on an indefinite strike since August 14th 2017. The Press Club, UNILAG can authoritatively reports that till the time of filing this report, the speculations that the strike will be call off this week is false, as no congress of Asuu chapters have been called, barring the hope of resumption this week.
