Professor Folasade Ogunsola has been elected as UNILAG Acting VC today, 24th of August 2020 at the meeting held by the senate.
In compliance with the directive from the visitor of the institution, President Muhammadu Buhari, the senate met today and conducted an election in which Prof. Ogunsola emerged the winner with 135 votes while her opponent Prof. Ben Ogbojafor had 31 votes.
Prof. Folashade is a Professor of medical microbiology specializing in disease control. She is also the immediate past provost of college of medicine UNILAG and reputed as being the first woman to occupy the position.
She also doubles as the Deputy VC (Development Services) of the institution since 2017.
