ASUU Strike: Court Orders ASUU Members Back To Work

The National Industrial Court has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to put an end to it’s ongoing strike and resume back to work.

The order was given when Justice Polycap Hamman administered an order for the suspension of ASUU’s ongoing strike on the 21st of September 2022.

Justice Hamman made the order while presiding in an application filed by the Federal Government which requested university academic staffs be compelled to go back to work while the negotiation of their demands for better working conditions is on.

The Industrial Court granted that motion by invoking section 18 of the Trade Dispute Act and the national interest of the Nigerian students.

UNILAG NEWS reported the industrial action has lingered for seven months, starting from February.
