Taking place at Julius Berger Hall, University of Lagos on August 28, 2024, the 8th Ngozi Agbo Media Lecture will honor and celebrate Ngozi Nwozor-Agbo, a journalist who changed the world with her words and passion.
The designated event, scheduled from 9 am to 3 pm in her name, revolves around the theme of “AI in Journalism: The Future of News Generation, Reporting, and Storytelling” for 2024.
A number of significant individuals will grace this wonderful event on Wednesday and some of them include David Ajikobi from Africa Check as the guest speaker, as well as Sunday Oguntola, the Nation’s Online Editor, and Professor Sunday Oloruntola, who will participate in the panel session.
Some dignitaries that will be available at the event include but are not limited to, Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, Executive Director, Media Career Development Network, and Professor CHUKWU Lucian Obinna, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services) UNILAG.
Ngozi Nwozor-Agbo was a Nigerian journalist at The Nation who started a college magazine called CampusLife, a pull-out from The Nation.
The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) sponsored two initiatives under her leadership, the CampusLife Student Writers’ Workshop, as well as the Student Journalists Awards Ceremony, which allowed students in tertiary education to learn the basics of journalism.
She is a well-known journalism educator and contributed to the careers of many other journalists, such as Fisayo Soyombo, Hannah Ojo-Ajakaiye, Wale Ajetunmobi, Gilbert Alasa, Dayo Ibitoye, Comfort Ogon, etc.
