The Press Club UNILAG is pleased to announce that the 2025 edition of the annual Tosin Adesile Essay Writing Competition is now open for submissions.
The essay competition, which awarded three undergraduates from the University of Lagos with cash prizes and certificates in 2024, is now accepting submissions for its third edition under the theme: “One of your strangest experiences on campus and how it shaped you.”
In line with the given theme, we are seeking essays that are bold, jaw-dropping and uncanny. We want to read your scariest campus experiences. Stories that are borderless and courageous. Your curiosities and silences. Your strengths and endurance. We want to read your strangest experiences in the University of Lagos and how they have shaped you academically, religiously, financially and otherwise.
The competition would be held in two stages, where selected participants with outstanding entries would proceed to the second and final stage in September 2025. Three winners would be awarded with a total cash prize of N100,000 at the final stage.
All submissions should be in essay form only and sent to the link attached. We implore you to carefully read the submission guidelines below before submitting.
