S.H.E Project Set to Empower Women at the University of Lagos

The S.H.E Project Conference 1.0, the maiden edition of the S.H.E initiative, is scheduled to hold on February 5, 2026, at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos, with activities commencing at 8:30 a.m.

The conference is themed “Herfluence: Changing the Narrative.” The S.H.E Project is a women-focused empowerment initiative of the Social Science Students’ Association (SOSSA), Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos.

Built on the pillars of Strength, Hope, and Empowerment, the initiative seeks to equip young women with the confidence and resources needed to thrive personally, academically, and socially.

The conference is expected to host about 1,000 attendees, bringing together students and young adults for impactful discussions, learning, and networking opportunities centred on leadership, innovation, career growth, and women’s influence in society.

Speakers expected at the maiden edition include Moyosola Olowokure, a creative artist known for her sun-kissed art style; Kaosarat Aduba, a product manager committed to career development through communities such as She Code Africa; Amanda Dara Ayeleso, a Nigerian-British television host and media entrepreneur; Oluwatosin Olaseinde, a seasoned chartered accountant; and Oyindamola Fadare, the Most Beautiful Girl in Lagos 2025, among others.

According to the organisers, the conference is designed to empower women through practical insights, redefine beauty beyond physical appearance, and foster an inclusive environment where women can learn, innovate, and build sustainable careers and businesses.

The event is expected to serve as a platform for inspiration, growth, and lasting impact.
