This week proved that music really can be a family inheritance. Nigerian artiste, Wizkid’s son, Boluwatife, also known as Champz, dropped his debut track “Champion’s Arrival.”
Once again, we watched a rich person’s child continue the family business. Champz is definitely ensuring that the entertainment money in the Wizkid Household turns to generational wealth.
Elsewhere, GQ Magazine crowned Cynthia Erivo, an openly gay, insanely talented actress, GQ Man of the Year. Congratulations to her! Hopefully, the girl writing this will also become “GQ Man of the Year” someday.
Mavin Records just unveiled a new artist signee, and it’s not one of the 2000 upcoming artists in Unilag. The latest artist, “CupidSZN”, features a very familiar sound, reminiscent of Magixx, Boy Spyce, and Crayon. Good luck to him, and to every soon to-be hostel executive reading this; I hope you know this is who we want to see performing during the next hall week.
A lot of artists dropped new music this week, and Mavo continues to rule the Spotify charts in Nigeria. Dear student, as you read this, remember that you might not actually study better with music.
Kindly turn off that Spotify playlist and face your books.
Watch: “Frankenstein”, and please, go in with tissues, you’ll need them.
